Terroir Sense Fronteres Montsant Brisat Blanc
-- Parker: The skin-contact white 2019 Brisat is a blend of 75% Garnacha Blanca and 25% Macabeo from 15- to 35-year-old organically farmed vineyards at 300 to 350 meters in altitude on clay and sand soils. This light white with 11.5% alcohol fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and was bottled unoaked after six months in vat, looking for citrus freshness but with structure. There is a reductive and stony quality here that I like very much (there are notes of gunpowder and flint), and the effect of the skins is quite light and lets the wine come through in a clear and transparent way. It's light and refreshing, with energy and electricity, remarkably fresh for a year like 2019. The palate is also very mineral/stony, serious and balanced, with a dry and very clean finish. They explained that Garnacha Blanca behaved exceptionally well in 2019 and that it was a little trickier for the Macabeo, which took longer to ripen. This is the direction they want to go with their whites... 2,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2020. 92/100
