Heiner Lobenberg über:
Taurasi DOCG 2015

94
/100

Decanter über: Taurasi DOCG

-- Decanter: This blend from different plots in the warm 2015 vintage is classic Taurasi. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels after two weeks of fermentation and maceration in stainless steel, this Aglianico has an elegant nose of coconut, blackberry, raspberry and sweet tobacco. On the palate, the fruit shows all its maturity, with grainy, crunchy tannins, firm acidity and a straw finish. 94/100

Parker über: Taurasi DOCG

-- Parker: The 2015 Taurasi exudes a baroque opulence, with generous layers of tobacco, black cherry and chocolate. The acidity and minerality help to streamline the mouthfeel just a bit, but this remains a large-scale, full-bodied red nevertheless. This wine will be released at the end of this year. I could see a pairing with agnolotti stuffed with roasted meat. The warm and sunny 2015 vintage was especially kind to the Aglianico grape. 93+/100

Suckling über: Taurasi DOCG

-- Suckling: A meaty, enticing Taurasi that shows dried cloves, black pepper, berries, tobacco and spices. The full-bodied palate portrays a fascinating juxtaposition between driven, steely acidity and ripe dark fruit, with tea-bag character in the mix, too. Drink from 2021. 93/100

Wine Enthusiast über: Taurasi DOCG

-- Wine Enthusiast: Taut and linear, this opens with aromas of red berry, pipe tobacco and eucalyptus. The firm, elegantly structured palate delivers sour cherry, cassis, star anise and a hint of smoke before finishing on an accent of coffee. Taut, fine-grained tannins provide the framework. Drink 2023–2035. 93/100
