Lobenberg: Ein Wein der 'selection parcelaire', der vielleicht extremsten Form der in der Rhone biodynamisch betriebenen Weinberge. Dichtes Nasenbild, anfangs dominieren Terroireindrücke, dann kommt immer mehr rotbeerige Frucht hinzu, reife Schwarzkirsche und Schokolade. Im Antrunk Pflaumen und ein Hauch Lakritz, daneben perfekt gezeichnete Struktur. Wirkt kühl und dicht, lässt dann wieder los um intensiv haften zu bleiben. Sehr tief und lang. Im Finale kommen noch einmal sehr schöne Kräuteraromen auf. Extrem hohes Potenzial, sollte in dieser für Leichtgewichte bekannten Appelation einer der absoluten Dauerläufer sein. 95-96+/100

-- Galloni: Glass-staining ruby. A highly complex, expansive bouquet evokes fresh dark berries, olive paste, potpourri and incense, along with exotic spice and smoky mineral notes that build steadily with air. Sweet, focused and penetrating on the palate, offering intense, spice-accented cassis, boysenberry, cherry preserve, smoky bacon, olive and violet pastille flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Melds concentration and energy with a sure hand and closes with resonating minerality and superb, youthfully tannic persistence. Sourced from two vineyards of mostly old vines at Tournon. 95/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Dense purple-hued, with a meaty, powerful bouquet of blackberry liqueur, acacia flowers, licorice, crushed stone, and pepper, the 2019 Saint Joseph Les Granits is another brilliant example from this vineyard that I'd be happy to have in the cellar. Medium to full-bodied and concentrated, with sweet tannins and a dense, structured mouthfeel, it's going to require 4-5 years of bottle age. 94-96/100

-- Decanter: Gravelly blackberry, very rich and flowing on the palate, intensely concentrated and dense with a salty finish. A huge vintage for Les Granits which will take some time to settle. Tannins are dense, ripe and fibrous - a bit too much really. Not the most elegant vintage, but certainly impressive. Lieux-dits Saint-Joseph and Peygros (planted in 1980s and 2000s). 93/100
