-- Parker: From the eastern part of the cru (paragneiss and a bit of loess), the 2019 Ried Pfaffenberg Steiner Riesling Selection opens with a clear, deep and complex, darker-toned and flinty bouquet of crushed stones, herbs and white and yellow stone fruits. Dense and juicy on the palate, this is a round, textured and mouth-filling Pfaffenberg based on a smart part of botrytis, and it has an intense and finely tannic finish. The wine is finessed and salty-elegant, with dense, juicy fruit and fine tannins. A sustainable and powerful but tensioned wine that has to be aged for 5–6 years. Tasted at the domaine in June 2021. 95+/100

-- Falstaff: Helles Gelbgrün, Silberreflexe. Feiner Blütenhonig, etwas nach Papaya, zart nach gelbem Steinobst, kandierte Orangenzesten, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, gute Komplexität, straff, fruchtsüß nach Marille, feine Würze im Nachhall, bleibt gut haften, vielseitiger Speisenbegleiter. 95/100
