Post Crucifixion
-- Parker: One of the new wines here, the 2018 Post-Crucifixión was produced with a complex field blend (with lots of grapes from Galicia, such as Bastardo, Brancellao, Godello...) from a pre-phylloxera plot of 0.114 hectares that was going to be part of the A Merced wine, but its character was so different that they decided to bottle it separately. The vineyard is in Santalla del Bierzo, one of the few places with limestone soils, and is on a 30% slope that faces east. It fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts in tinaja, where it had a 10-month maceration (yes, 311 days!) followed by three and a half months in a third use 500-liter oak barrel. This is completely different from the rest: it's flinty and finely reductive, very delicate, with a very light color. At the same time, it's incredibly perfumed and has a Galician profile— aromatic, light on the palate with light and energy, vibrant and super tasty. It's only 11.6% alcohol and has a pH of 3.2. The wine is named after a song from Luis Alberto Spinetta, the father of Argentinean rock. 593 bottles and 20 magnums were filled in October 2019. 97/100
