Lobenberg: Reinsortiger Frappato. Das ist ein echter Charmeur. Die Frucht duftet, kommt einem entgegen. Ich finde, Frappato erinnert immer ein wenig an ganz reife Nekarinen im Bouquet. Dann kommen wieder Herzkirsche und auch etwas Rosmarin zur Geltung. Aber der Fokus liegt auf dieser leicht angequetschten Kirschduftigkeit und etwas Veilchen. Auch am Gaumen tänzelt der samtige Wein. Harmonisch und knackig im Charakter. Eigentlich absurd, dass man mit Sizilien immer erst überreife, säurearme Weine vermutet. Das ist das komplette Gegenteil 92-93+/100

-- Parker: Arianna Occhipinti has outdone herself with the 2014 Il Frappato. This is a wine of character and personality. It flaunts those slightly rustic edges with charm and confidence. The bouquet opens to ripe blueberry, raspberry and dried cassis. The quality of fruit shows good integrity and balance. You don't notice any of the raw or unclean smells you sometimes get with wines made in such a natural and non-interventionist approach. The nose is pristine. In the mouth, Il Frappato delivers vibrant acidity and snappy fruit flavors. More than any other wine, this vintage and this producer can claim to have produced something close to a Pinot Nero with an all-Sicilian soul. 93/100

-- Suckling: The palate is full of dried strawberres and hints of watermelon. Some dust, too. Medium body and firm and chewy tannins. Always excellent. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. 93/100
