TA über: Gevrey-Chambertin Clos des Issarts 1er Cru

-- TA: A monopole situated close to Mazis-Chambertin and Les Ruchottes, this 0.5-hectare vineyard is planted north-south (rare in these parts). It’s fine, fresh and sweet, but with an undertow of tannin and considerable depth of flavour. With neighbours like those, it’s hardly surprising. Fresh and very long. 96/100

IWC über: Gevrey-Chambertin Clos des Issarts 1er Cru

-- IWC: Bright medium red. Sexy perfume of red berries, flowers and minerals; smells like a Chambolle-Musigny from white soil. Juicy, spicy and fine-grained, offering terrific cut and lift to the raspberry and saline mineral flavors. Finishes with sweet tannins and superb grip and persistence. Made from a tiny crop, this will be a wine to seek out. 92-94/100

BH über: Gevrey-Chambertin Clos des Issarts 1er Cru

-- BH: Here the nose is more deeply pitched with lightly spiced and earth-infused aromas that run more toward the blue and black side of the fruit spectrum. There is ample punch and lovely detail to the intensely mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess both good richness and volume before concluding in a moderately austere finish that is trimmed in noticeable wood. 90-92/100

Domaine Faiveley
