Lobenberg: Das ist im Ergebnis der wohl reinste Terroir- und Malbec-Ausdruck in Argentinien. Alles Handarbeit, organisch, biodynamisch. Nase und Mund sind immens. Sattes, schwarzbeeriges Volumen, Schwarzkirsche, Maulbeere, Brombeere, Teer, butterweiches Tannin und hohe Viskosität, fast kaubar und dann doch auch eine superbe Frische roter Waldbeeren. Die Balance und das Spiel der Frische mit der fruchtstarken Wucht und Kraft erlebt man sehr selten, vielleicht nur noch mit dem La Creu Alta aus dem Priorat vergleichbar. Ein ungeheures Erlebnis und wirklich mit Freude trinkbar. Groß! 98-100/100

-- International Wine Report: The 2013 Achaval Ferrer 'Finca Bella Vista' Red Wine is about as good as it gets out of this region in terms of combining bright fruits, hedonism and balance. Right out of the gate the beautifully perfumed aromatics exude class with tar, sagebrush, dark currants and mocha that meld in the glass. The freshness and sense of minerality really impresses as this seamless wine deftly glides across the mid palate. Dense and concentrated dark fruits greet you with chocolate covered espresso bean. The 2013 is simply fantastic today, however it still has plenty to give and should continue to evolve over the course of the next twenty years. 96/100

-- Weinwisser: Der dritte der drei grossen Lagen- weine von Achaval-Ferrer fällt (noch!) et- was rustikaler aus, was aber daran liegen dürfte, dass die Weine aus den klassischen, kalkgeprägten Lagen von Perdriel längere Entwicklungszeit in der Flasche brauchen: kraftvoll, aromatisch, floral und dunkle Frucht (Brombeere, Schwarzkirsche, Blau- beere), wieder gute Säure, aber im Moment noch weniger bezaubernd als der samtig- feine Mirador und weniger spielerisch als Altamira. 19/20

-- Suckling: This is a precise and sassy wine with blueberry and hints of hazelnut plus lots of citrus character. Full and tight with a long and persistent finish. Better in 2016 but so good now. 95/100

-- Parker: Located in Perdriel, in Luján de Cuyo, a classical zone in the province or Mendoza, the 2013 Malbec Finca Bella Vista had the same treatment as the rest of the single-vineyards, which means aging in 100% new French oak barriques. In addition, in 2013 they started using no less than 50% 160-liter barrels for the élevage, and against all odds the oak is really imperceptible here. There are wild berries, acidic strawberries, violets and some balsamic aromas that characterize the incredibly elegant and subtle nose. The palate reveals a silky texture and superb acidity with juicy fruit, sophisticated tannins, great balance and length. 18,000 bottles produced. 95/100

Achaval Ferrer

Erst gegen Ende der 90er-Jahre wurde das kleine Mustergut (nur 150 Tausend Flaschen geplante Gesamtmenge) in Mendoza aus der Taufe gehoben. Das Weingut ist die Verwirklichung von Jugendträumen der in der Werbung arbeitenden Besitzer, weniger ein richtiges Kommerzprojekt.
