-- Parker: There will be more wines, but the scion from the Magaña family in Navarra only showed me his 2017 Anza Rioja, a delicious and insultingly young red blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Tinto Velasco, Viura, Malvasía and Graciano from old vines. It's produced in an approachable and easy-to-drink style, with depth and concentration but without being heavy. In fact, the wine is very easy to drink, expressive and aromatic, with plenty of flower, wild berries, licorice and fine herbs. It fermented with indigenous yeast in open barrels and a 4,000-liter oak vat and matured in those containers for some 11 months. It has fine tannins, a velvety texture and great freshness for the 2017 vintage. 7,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2019. 92/100
