Lobenberg: Contrada Porcaria ist eine alte Lage auf 650m. Das ist der meistgesuchte Contrada, da er den kräftigsten und komplexesten Wein hervorbringt. 1,5 Hekar sind hier im Besitz des Weinguts. Wir haben auch hier, wie bei allen Contrada, natürlich reinsortigen Nerello Mascalese. Die Reben sind über 100 Jahre alt. Und auch hier 18 Monate Ausbau im großen Eichenfass. Das ist unglaublich wie fein und nuanciert dieses Bouquet ist. Sehr duftig, mit Rosenblättern, Herzkirsche, etwas Minze, Marzipan und auch Kirschkernen. Am Gaumen geht der Wein dann voll auf Eleganz. Feines Tanningerüst. Nicht zupackend, eher unterlegend und der Frucht die Tribüne überlassend. Da tummeln sich dann etwas Kirschjoghurt, Walderdbeeren und auch Nelke. Mit Luft geht die Frucht ins Würzige über mit etwas Zimt und feiner Extraktsüße. Sehr fein, sehr nuanciert. 98+/100

-- International Wine Report: -- IWR: This stunning Nerello Mascalese is sourced from Contrada Porcaria, which is situated at 2,100 feet above sea level, with soils consisting of frail lava sheets. The wine itself is simply striking, as it begins with inviting aromas of dark cherries, black raspberries and pomegranate, woven together with dried florals, spices, dried mediterranean herbs and wet stones which all take shape in the glass. On the palate this is elegant with a gorgeous texture, backed by fine tannins. It is beautifully balanced with outstanding concentration and remarkable finesse leading up the finish. Classy and refined, this is an absolutely brilliant wine from Andrea Franchetti which is already stunning in its youth, yet should certainly go on to have a marvelous future ahead. 95/100

-- Parker: This wine is made with fruit from 80-year-old vines in the Contrada Porcaria. The 2016 Contrada P shows a beautiful appearance with glossy ruby highlights. In fact, this wine appears more luminous and bright compared to the other single-vineyard wines in this series. The aromas are focused and sharp, and maybe more direct in this concentrated expression. It would appear that the age of the vines has contributed to those elegant identifying characteristics. The finish shows dried cherry, licorice and grilled herb. Only 3,000 bottles were made. 93+/100
