Lobenberg: Es gibt sehr wenig Menge. Vorraussichtlich unter 3.000 Flaschen 2016. Grund sind die Spätfröste in der letzten Aprilwoche, die große Teile der Parzellen erfrieren lassen haben. Zurück blieb eine kleine Essenz. Ich habe wie in den anderen Grand Crus wieder eine dunkle Nase. Alles ist offen, man hat viel Zimt und Schlehe. Hier hat man schon wieder mehr Dampf in der Nase, mehr Druck und eine reife Frucht. Aber im Kontext 2016, der sehr frisch ist. Am Gaumen noch sehr verschlossen, kräftiges Tannin. Das ist ein großer Wein, der jetzt am Gaumen noch so massiv und verschlossen ist, dass man ihn kaum erfassen kann. Nicht umsonst der letzte Wein der Verkostung. Das wird mal groß, wenn man Geduld aufbringt! 97/100

-- Tim Atkin: Made, like all of the Eugénie wines, with one eye on the future, this comes from a single 1.4-hectare parcel planted in 1954 and 1956. It’s an intense, dramatic, richly oaked style with masses of colour and avour, rich, smooth, plush tannins, sweet dark berry fruit and a smoky concentrated nish. A 20 year wine. 96/100

-- Jancis Robinson: Very dark. Sumptuous nose but with some neatness too. Very fine and sinewy. Like a thoroughbred horse with sinews rippling. Lovely texture and much more savoury than the Vosne wines. Rather majestic. Real excitement and pace. Extremely smart. Glossy and compelling. 18,5/20

-- Parker: The 2016 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is the standout wine for Domaine d'Eugenie this year. It was cropped at 16 hectoliters per hectare (compared to 38 hectoliters per hectare in 2017). It easily is blessed with the finest aromatics from the domaine: red and black fruit, fine mineralité with just a hint of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, a fine bead of acidity—real personality here, with a very pure and tensile finish that lingers in the mouth. I like the way it just keeps rolling across the senses. This is extremely sophisticated and full of breeding. 94-96/100
