-- Decanter: A refined and subtle Châteauneuf blanc, it's broad and full-bodied of course but it has a real inner finesse and precision. Very fresh, no excess alcohol or oak. Well measured and luxurious but not showy. 2,600 bottles made. Grown on the sandy soils of Pignan and Les Bédines, 20% spends four months in new oak, the rest in old oak, before release. 96/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Another terrific white from this team is the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Safres Blanc and it has both richness and freshness, with classy notes of crushed citrus, white peach, white flowers, and a touch of salty minerality. With medium to full-bodied richness, terrific balance, and supple, elegant texture, it’s a great example of the quality of the wines now coming from this appellation, as well as this estate. This cuvée is 40% Grenache Blanc and 30% each of Roussanne and Clairette, brought up in 80% old barrels and 20% new French oak. 94/100

-- Parker: The barrel-fermented and matured 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Les Safres is a classic blend of 40% Grenache Blanc and 30% each Clairette and Roussanne. As it only spends four months in barriques (20% new), the oak signature is limited to a suggestion of caramel and pencil shavings, which is nicely juxtaposed against scents of sun-warmed stones, stone fruit and tangerine. It's medium to full-bodied, round and gentle in the mouth, but with enough lime zest on the finish to impart decent length. 93/100
