Lobenberg: 90,5% Cabernet Sauvignon , 8,5% Merlot, jeweils 0,5% Cabernet Franc und Petit Verdot. 14,5 % Alkohol, 36% der Gesamterzeugung ging in den großen Wein. Extrem aromatische Nase. Volle Schwarzkirsche mit Cassis und Brombeere. Dunkle Pralinen, duftig, rassig, voluminös. Sehr feine Süße. Viel Charme im Mund, dann kommt Rasse, wieder viel Johannisbeere neben Schwarzkirsche. Singende Säure, geschliffene Tanninmassen, der Tanninlevel ist wahrscheinlich höher als je zuvor und doch butterweich und raffiniert. Soviel innere Kraft und Spannung gebührt ihm ein Platz in der ersten Reihe. Der Alkohol fällt nicht auf, wird komplett balanciert, gibt aber das richtige Fett, um eine große Harmonie zu schaffen. Weniger Blockbuster als in manchen Jahren, eher ein feiner Latour. Macht Freude. 100/100

-- Parker: t's too early to know for sure, but the 2010 Latour appears to be a huge and massive Pauillac fruit bomb from this property. With 14.4% natural alcohol, this blend of 90.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8.5% Merlot and .5% Cabernet Franc, director Frederic Engerer told me it is unlike any other wine made at this estate. Possessing abundant amounts of everything, it even eclipses the 2009 in terms of power with a lower pH and higher total acidity. Representing only 36% of the production (making it even more difficult to find than usual, as this is the smallest of the Medoc first growths), it possesses an opaque black/purple color along with an extraordinary perfume of spring flowers, blueberry, blackberry and cassis liqueurs and hints of white chocolate as well as earth intermixed with vague charcoal and truffle-like components. With unreal concentration, full-bodied power, and a precision, freshness and refined level of tannins that are something to behold, this remarkable offering is one of my personal favorites of the vintage. It will undoubtedly shut down after bottling and enjoy 50-60 years of longevity. 98-100/100

-- Suckling: The aromas of flowers such as roses, violets and lilacs jump from the glass then turn to dark berries such as blueberries and blackberries. It's full-bodied, with velvety tannins and dense and intense with a chocolate, berry and currant character. This is juicy and rich with wood still showing a bit, but it's all coming together wonderfully. Muscular yet toned. Another perfect wine like the 2010. Try in 2022. 100/100

-- Decanter: I get the same peony and violet aromatics here as I did in Forts de Latour. This is powerful, muscular, not even getting close to being ready. The tannins crowd in from the mid palate onwards, extremely physical in the way they make their presence felt. Behind them, if you give the wine enough time in the glass, it gives black pepper spice, pencil lead, slate and compressed earth, along with cassis, bilberry and all the tight compact dark-berried fruits you can think of. Don't even consider this for another five years at least. This is a monumental Latour and a flashing signpost for how good this vintage is in Pauillac. 100/100

-- Falstaff: Sehr dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, noch zurückhaltend, reife dunkle Beerenfrucht, mineralische Nuancen dominieren, feine Edelholzaromen; ungemein konzentriert und komplex, perfekte Tannine, die abslolut reif sind, getragen von einer finessenreichen Struktur, sowohol die Appellation wie der Stil des Hauses sind optimal umgesetzt, ein Wein für die nächsten fünfzig Jahre, ganz groß. 98-100/100 -- Gerstl: Wouw, das ist Tiefe, so etwas kann fast nur Latour, Cassis, Heidelbeer, Brombeer in konzentriertester Form, dazu schwarze Trüffel ohne Ende, Leder, Tabak Lakritze und feine Edelhölzer, alles zusammen ergibt einen Duft von berauschender Schönheit. Intensiver powervoller, aber genial schlanker, eleganter Gaumen, da sind Tannine ohne Ende, geballte Kraft, ein kleines Monster von Wein und doch von beinahe lafiteartiger Eleganz, das ist schon ein Wein der beeindruckt, das ist Präzision, das ist ein sinnliches Weinerlebnis. Ein grosser Latour für die Ewigkeit. 20/20
