Lobenberg: 2019 ist sicher noch vor 2018 und 2016 das 'coming-out' dieses kleinen Chateau. Direkt auf dem hinteren Teil des Plateau gelegen, kurz vor Castillon, neben Chateau Mangot und Valandraud. Bestes Terroir, 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Der neue, belgische Besitzer hat es vor einigen Jahren gekauft und groß investiert. 94 Punkte Parker für den 2015er, 92-94 für den 2016er sind der Dank für seine Mühen, für ein sehr gutes Terroir, für 9 Hektar direkt um das Chateau herum. Also ein richtiges Kleinod in bester Lage. Obwohl es 80% Merlot sind, ist die Nase durchaus auch von der Cabernet geprägt. Wir haben also neben Kirsche auch durchaus ein wenig Himbeere und Johannisbeere. Tolle Säure, etwas Bitterstoff. Tolle Komposition im Mund, Cassis, auch rote Johannisbeere, schwarze und rote Kirschen, dunkle Brombeere, etwas Lakritz und Schokolade. Lang, salzig, etwas bitter, frisch, crispy, feiner Schliff. Sehr archetypischer Saint-Emilion vom Plateau und der Durchbruch Badettes in 2019. 95-96/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: I continue to love this château, and their 2019 Château Badette is another killer bottle of wine. A blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, its deep purple color is followed by a modern tinged bouquet of crème de cassis, classy oak, chocolate, and violets. Rich, powerful, full-bodied, and just gorgeously balanced, it's well worth a case purchase and is in the same league as the 2016. 94-96/100

The 2019 is beautifully balanced in a decidedly modern, unctuous style. Partial fermentation in barrel, long cuvaison and 50% new oak work beautifully here. 92-94/100
