Lobenberg: Anders als die Basiscuvée Brut Imperial, haben die Grand Vintage Abfüllungen von Moët & Chandon eine immense Strahlkraft. Es sind wirklich schicke, eigenständige Jahrgangschampagner, die nur in den besten Jahren erzeugt werden. Der Jahrgang 2013 war in der Champagne recht kühl, was zu besonders feinen Weinen mit genialer Frische und Mineralität geführt hat. Wir haben hier einen klassischen Blend aus den drei Leitrebsorten der Champagne mit 41% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir und 21% Pinot Meunier. Extra Brut mit 5 Gramm Dosage, über 7 Jahre Hefelager. Aus dem Glas strömen förmlich schon die typischen Noten von Brioche und gerösteter Haselnuss. Dazu etwas saftig-reife Zitrone, gelber Apfel und weiße Blüten. Im Mund dann mit expressiver Frucht; viel saure Mandarine und getrocknete Aprikose. Schon ordentlich Druck, man spürt den mineralischen Kern dahinter. Langer Nachhall mit kreidigem Schub. Ich bin überrascht – was für ein schicker Moët, der sich mit etwas Reife noch toll entwickeln wird. 94+/100

Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and fine-boned, with an enveloping core of bright, vibrant fruit and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it concludes with a precise, penetrating finish. Incisive but not austere, it's an impressive effort, reflecting good levels of maturity in this cool, late harvest. It's as fine a rendition of this cuvée as I can remember tasting. 93/100

Am Gaumen frische weiße Birnenfrucht, etwas Melone, lebendige Rasse, zitroniger Touch im Abgang, etwas Grapefruit, wirkt bereits entwickelt und gut antrinkbar, feine Mineralität im Nachhall, ein Hauch von Röstaromen im Rückgeschmack. 93/100
