Lobenberg: Patricks Fourchaume liegt in dem winzigen rechten Teil der 1er Cru Lage direkt an den besten Grand Cru Les Preuses grenzend. Das ist mit das beste Terroir in ganz Chablis. Wirkt zunächst kühl, aber auch kräuterig. Man kann das Burgund in der Mineralik deutlich spüren. Am Horizont ist aber schon in der Nase ein Hauch von Karamell zu erkennen. Raumgreifend steigt eine Brücke aus Aromen hervor. Alles wirkt aber zunächst wie versiegelt: geheimnisvoll und verführerisch. Am Gaumen ist er sehr dicht, geballt und mit immenser Spannung ausgestattet. Letztlich kommt wieder der leichte Karamellton zum Vorschein und rundet das Gesamtbild zunächst ab, bis ihn dann die fulminante Intensität überrollt. Ein großer Chablis, der sich hinter den berühmten Grand Crus von Dauvissat nicht verstecken muss! 95-97/100

The bouquet shows off lovely minerality in its blend of apple, tangerine, a touch of the vineyard’s 'woodsiness”, fine minerality and a topnote of apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and very elegant out of the blocks, with a lovely core, crisp acids and a long, focused and wide open finish. A fine, fine bottle of Fourchaume. 92/100
