-- Suckling: White pepper with hints of black olives, iron and dark chocolate to the racy red and black fruit. Pretty full-bodied with fresh acidity and firm, dusty tannins. Tightly wound and long. 53% carmenere, 36% cabernet sauvignon, 7% merlot and 4% petit verdot. Better from 2026.

-- Galloni: The 2022 Condor de Apalta is the first release of this cuvée. It’s a Carménère-based blend, with 36% split between Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Aged for one year in barrel, this fragrant red delivers notes of cherry and freshly crushed plum, along with a light cedar note at the core. Dry and juicy, its faintly bold character is elevated by fine-grained tannins. This inaugural wine aims to introduce a fresh approach to the wines of Clos Apalta—definitely one to follow.
