Lobenberg: Das ist der Zweitwein von Lafite Rothschild. Der Wein hat 13,5 Volumenprozent Alkohol. Die Ernte fand vom 19. September bis zum 7. Oktober statt. 68 Prozent Cabernet Sauvignon, 27 Prozent Merlot und fünf Prozent Cabernet Franc. Die Besonderheit an diesem Carruades ist, dass der Cabernet-Anteil deutlich geringer ist als im Erstwein. Auch die ganze Cabernet Franc ging in den Zweitwein. Eher schlanke Nase, rotfruchtig. Ein bisschen Himbeere von der Cabernet Franc, auch rote Johannisbeere. Ein Hauch Kirsche und Schlehe. Schöne Würze, aber eher fein bleibend. Delikat und schick. Erstmals 2019 ist Carruades Lafite auf der gleichen Höhe mit Duhart-Milon. Normalerweise sehe ich ihn immer deutlich dahinter. Aber mit dieser wunderbaren Würze und dieser rotfruchtigen, schon etwas spartanischen Art, ist Carruades in 2019 ein wirklich eleganter und schicker Pauillac. Okay, ein bisschen Fleisch fehlt, um Größe zu haben. Trotzdem sehr gut gelungen. 94-96/100

-- Suckling: This is a beautiful Carraudes with currant, sweet-tobacco and wet-earth aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with a dense center-palate and tight, polished tannins. Fresh, with tension. Reminds me of the 1995 Lafite. This is so Lafite in character. It shows so much cabernet sauvignon character. It’s 68% cabernet sauvignon, 27% merlot and the rest cabernet franc. Try after 2026. 96/100

-- Decanter: Ripe nose, so fresh and alive with beautiful cherry perfumed aromas too. This has a lovely, almost sweet, aspect to the fruit on the palate with high acidity making you salivate. High toned blackcurrants and red cherries are supported by soft tannins and gentle licks of liquorice and coffee. A wine you just want to drink now as it's so appealing with freshness and lift but it has the sides of spice that give it structure and make you realise it's still powerful and will age so well. The finish is cool and lifted. Poise and persistence - a tantalising Carruades. Drinking window: 2027 - 2044. 95/100

-- Parker: The 2019 Pavillon Blanc is, as always, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The nose opens with delicate scents of Bosc pears, white peaches and fresh Golden Delicious apples with hints of almonds, lemongrass and chalk dust, plus a waft of jasmine. The light to medium-bodied palate has a crisp backbone supporting the myriad of citrus and stone fruit layers, finishing long and mineral laced. 94+/100

The blend is 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. 94-96/100
