Heiner Lobenberg über:
Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2016

97–100
/100

Falstaff über: Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova

-- Falstaff: Kraftvolles, leuchtendes Rubin. 100/100

Suckling über: Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova

-- Suckling: Incredibly complex with black truffle, spice, flowers, currants and black cherries. Smells like a bouquet of flowers. Full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins and incredible depth and length. Seamless and structured with great tannins for long-term aging. It goes on for minutes. Great class. This is a fabulous wine for the cellar. Drinkable now, but give it time. 99/100

International Wine Report über: Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova

-- International Wine Report: The 2016 Casanova di Neri Tenuta Nuova Brunello di Montalcino is as impressive as ever. In this vintage we get a refined and elegant rendition, which offers vivid aromatics of cherries and plums that are accented by dried exotic spices, dried florals, juniper berries and subtle hints of tobacco and minerals. On the palate this displays a wonderful pure character, with incredible focus and overall balance. It continues to impress with its impeccably detailed structure, which is supported by gorgeous fine silky tannins that are frame by lovely underlying acidity keeping it fresh and vibrant. Everything comes together gracefully on the beautiful finessed finish, before gripping a firm hold and leaving a lasting impression. There is no doubt that 2016 is another utterly brilliant release of Tenuta Nuova that will evolve incredibly well over time. That said, this leans more on the traditional side in terms of style, and will require some patience before it hits its stride. 98/100

Parker über: Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova

-- Parker: This is one of my sweetheart wines from Montalcino. The Casanova di Neri 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova offers a long list of aromas on an ever-shifting and fluid bouquet. You get bright cherry, rose potpourri, black truffle, caramel, butterscotch, sandalwood, road pavement and chalky mineral. In fact, each time I come back to this wine, that mineral element seemed to grow in intensity and scope. The wine offers a grounded fruit side that is contrasted nicely against a grounded oak component. The mouthfeel is creamy and long, and the wine shows terrific tannic integration. When you come back hours later, you might find black olive, bresaola and licorice. 97+/100

Decanter über: Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova

-- Decanter: Tenuta Nuova is Casanova di Neri’s southern expression of Brunello. Vines were planted in 1989 and Gianlorenzo Neri says they are now hitting their stride, giving wines with more persistence and depth than earlier vintages. The 2016 clearly demonstrates both of these attributes. It is not as immediate as the white label but unfolds decorously with earth, tar, leather, black currants and cinnamon. The tannins are refined, clinging to the palate with a clayey texture. Pristine and polished with masses of personality, the briny undertow cleanses the mouth brilliantly. Balsam and orange carry the finish. 97/100
