Lobenberg: Der Barolo Cerretta kommt von nur 0,7 Hektar in Serralunga, deutlich intensiveres Terroir bzgl. Mineralität und Kraft, auch ist die Säure und das Tannin der Weine aus Serralunga höher. Der Fassausbau des Cerretta so lang wie die anderen Weine, aber der Wein wird zwei Jahre länger in der Flasche gelassen bevor er in den Verkauf gerät. Die Nase ist komplett geschliffen, überaus fein und sanft. Der Mund ist dieser Wein ausnahmsweise ein wirklicher Barolo mit Druck, Tannin und Säure, sehr ungewöhnlich bei Elio Altare. Dieser Wein integriert mit seinem lehmigen und mineralischem, eisenhaltigem Terroir und der Wucht und Säure das neue Holz perfekt. Der Wein spielt, hat ein dramatisches Finish und ist womöglich der einzige 2009er Barolo von Altare, der wirkliche Größe zeigt. Macht Spaß und beeindruckt. 96-97+/100

-- Parker: The 2009 Barolo Cerretta is not a Riserva, but it is released six years after the harvest. Fruit comes from a 4,000-square-meter parcel near the Bricco Cerretta hamlet in Serralunga d'Alba that is shaped like a little mound with excellent exposures on its various sides. This wine shows an excellent sense of balance with beautiful freshness and aromatic intensity that still feels youthful and vibrant. It offers seamless endnotes of wild berry, balsam herb and toasted almond. This wine will hold strong for many more years to come. 97/100
