Lobenberg: Der Wein wächst in Tupungato, Mendoza, ist also quasi ein Village-Wein. Wie traditionell üblich ein Blend aus vielen Rebsorten, sogar ein paar weiße Semillon sind mit drin. Alles wird gemeinsam spontan vergoren und mit einem Drittel Ganztraubenanteil im Zement ausgebaut, ein paar Barriques kommen auch dazu. Ein sehr duftiger, hocharomatischer Wein, der vor Frucht nur so strotzt. Feinsäuerliche rote Waldfrüchte, Himbeere, Erdbeere, Cranberry, frischer Pfeffer und ätherische Kräuter darunter, Eukalyptus und Pfefferminze dominieren. Wunderbar fein verwoben, wirkt wie aus einem Guss, ein meisterlicher Blend. Man spürt den co-ferment, denn dann passt das alles richtig gut ineinander und wirkt nicht aufgesetzt. Kraftvolle, saftig-animierender Fruchtausdruck im Mund, auch hier im rotfruchtig-verspielten Spektrum bleibend, viel Energie, lebhaft und mit vibrierendem Spiel aus Waldbeeren und Gestein. Im Nachhall kommt die erdige Kräuterwürze wieder durch und gibt dem langen Finish eine wunderbare Herbheit, die das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen lässt. Ein tänzerischer, total verspielter, unglaublich schicker Wein und eine Ode an die Trinkfreude. 93/100

-- Galloni: Michelini i Mufatto's 2020 Balsa De Piedra is a blend of Malbec with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 5% Sémillon from Tupungato, Uco Valley and was 1/3 aged in used barrels for six months. Bright purple in color, the attractively pure, complex and intense aromatic profile is led by red fruit such as cherry and plum with hints of blackcurrant, mint and flowers. Juicy in the mouth with compact, finely grained tannins, the palate is tilted toward the accomplished freshness. 92/100

Parker über: Balsa de Piedra Red Blend

-- Parker: Parker zu 2019: A new village red from Tupungato, the 2019 Balsa de Piedra Blend de Tintas mixes grapes from different vineyards within the village and is also a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and some Semillon. The varieties fermented together with indigenous yeasts and some stems in concrete, and a small portion of the wine matured in 225-liter oak barrels, with the rest kept in concrete. They mentioned a Rioja when talking about this wine, but it's more aromatic and floral, the varieties very integrated. The wine is juicy and combines ripeness and freshness. It has a fine thread, round tannins and a vibrant finish. Very tasty. 30,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2020. 91/100
