Lobenberg: Ein Mix autochthoner Rebsorten. Rabigato, Arinto und Viosinho. Ausbau im gebrauchten Holz. Die Nase hat etwas sehr feines, fast einen leicht burgundischen Touch. Streichholz-Reduktion, Mandel, grüne Walnuss, aber auch viel gelbe Frucht von Aprikose und Honigmelone. Auch etwas Muschelschale und Gesteinsmehl. Erinnert in seiner Art ein bisschen an einen Chardonnay aus dem Maconnais. Tolle Frische am Gaumen, man würde nicht darauf kommen, dass das aus einer so heißen und trockenen Region wie dem Douro Superior kommt. Feine Röstaromen, etwas Hefegebäck und geröstete Haselnuss dabei. Toller Grip mit viel salzigem Schub. Geniale Länge. Ein wirklich schöner, autochthoner Blend aus Portugal mit saftiger Frucht und burgundischem Twist. 93+/100

Suckling über: Vinhas do Sabor White

-- Suckling: This is aromatic with pears, melon, white flowers and crushed stones on offer. It has the texture of a crunchy nectarine with a medium body and vivid acidity. It is focused and clean with a polished finish. Drink or hold. 92/100

Parker über: Vinhas do Sabor White

-- Parker: The 2021 Branco Vinhas do Sabor is a blend of 55% Arinto, 25% Gouveio and the rest divided between Rabigato and Viosinho, a very different blend this year than last, all aged for eight months in 50% new French oak. It comes in at 13.5% alcohol. Sturdy but crisp, this is very fresh in its youth, its sunny demeanor countering the wood nicely while it also shows good depth and balance. Lively and precise, this is another nice performance from this bargain-priced Branco. I do wonder how well they will age, but they are certainly showing well in their youth. It should hold throughout the rest of the decade, but you can easily enjoy it now. It is versatile enough to drink on its own or with appropriate foods. 90/100
