Lobenberg: Der Vino Nobile di Montepulciano ist ein klassischer und würdiger Vertreter seiner Gattung. Und das Aushängeschild von Boscarelli. Hier kommt die Herzkirsche so richtig saftig zur Geltung. Dazu haben wir Veilchen, ein wenig Vanille und reife Waldbeeren. Und dann kommt noch eine leichte Kirschlikör-Note in die Nase. Im Mund zeigt er sich sehr samtig und geschmeidig, gutes Tannin, feine Säure. Insgesamt sehr mundfüllend mit herrlich dominanter Kirsche. Aber wir haben auch Heidelbeersaft und Nuancen von Blutorange. Für die Tiefe auch ein wenig heller Tabak. Zeigt schon Komplexität und Tiefe. Ist jetzt schon delikat, wird aber die nächsten Jahre noch deutlich besser werden. Hat eine gute Länge und bleibende Frische. 93-94/100

-- Decanter: Luca De Ferrari estimates losing about 50% of production overall in 2017. Besides frost damage in lower altitude plots, the summer drought resulted in reduced yields due to water stress and a strict selection of only the healthiest grapes. Rounding out Sangiovese, indigenous varieties Canaiolo Nero, Colorino and Mammolo lend attractive scents of rosehip and violet to counter earth, incense and iron nuances. Full and grippy, it eventually gives way to macerated cherry on the midpalate and the brightening acidity that lurks underneath. Well-executed. 92/100
