Lobenberg: Tondonia ist immer frisch und samtig zugleich, die famose Säure ist unsterblich, Zimt, Zwetschge und Kirsche betören den Mund, alles so fein dahingehaucht. Wenn schon historisches Spanien dann doch bitte dieser Erzeuger, dessen Weine niemals müde werden und die doch vom ersten Tag der Erscheinung trinkreif sind. 94-95/100

Parker über: Vina Bosconia Tinto Reserva

-- Parker: The 2006 Viña Bosconia Reserva, always more rustic and powerful than the Viña Tondonia, was cropped from a warm and early harvest and is a blend of Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha and 5% Graciano and Mazuelo. This wine matures in used American oak barrels for five years. It has a very developed nose, and as winemaker Mercedes López de Heredia noted, 'It could be confused with a Gran Reserva, as I see it more tertiary and developed.' These are amazing wines, clean and complex, with polished tannins and surprisingly good acidity. I have the idea of 2006 as a warmer vintage, but it's not true throughout Rioja; as I've seen with other wines, like the ones from Muga, in this cooler part of Rioja, the vintage was much better. There are some dusty tannins and some flavors that still remind you of fresh fruit. 94/100

-- Suckling: This rich and silky red that seduces you with its silky tannins and subtle bouquet of redcurrants, plums, cedar and autumn leaves. Yet there are some serious tannins in here that build on the long elegant finish. Drink or hold. 94/100

-- Tim Atkin: The Bosconia vineyard has a higher percentage of clay than the other red wine sites at López de Heredia and the resulting wines tend to show more tannin and concentration. This is not quite as exciting as the 2005, with slightly rustic note, but there’s plenty of savoury red fruit and tobacco notes supported by acidity. 93/100

-- Weinwisser: Kühles Bouquet mit feiner, aber eher zurückhaltender Toastwürze, Wachol- der, getrocknete Brombeeren, Zwetschge, Wildkirschen und Gojibeeren, dahinter fei- ne, süsse Gewürze mit einem Touch Leder und Tabak. Deutlich klassischer ausgerich- tet. Saftig-frischer Gaumen mit cremigen Rundungen, aber im Kern mit der schönen, famosen Tondonia-Frische, trotz gewisser Tertiäraromen kühl, samtig und komplex, wieder sehr feine, fast exotische Gewürze. Mind. 1 Stunde belüften. 18/20
