Lobenberg: Der Tilama kommt nicht ganz so polarisierend daher wie der Masdache. Die Nase macht der Rebsorte alle Ehre... Malvasía Volcánica, die Nase ist in der Tat von Vulkangestein dominiert. Auch haben wir Kräuter, vegetale Noten und eine feine Mineralik, aber alles wesentlich weicher und geschmeidiger, vielleicht durch einen Hauch floraler Anklänge. Im Mund dann aber nicht weniger salzig, vielleicht sogar noch einen Tick mehr, aber insgesamt auch hier runder, weicher, harmonischer und zugänglicher. Grüner Tee, Zitronengras, saurer Apfel, feinste Kräuter und eine tolle Spur von weißem Pfeffer. Extrem gute Säurestruktur und die Phenolik legt sich wunderbar auf den Gaumen. Im Nachhall haben wir feine Bitteraromen, die einen eleganten Abgang bereiten. Wenn Sie es extremer mögen Masdache, wenn sie es etwas geschmeidiger brauchen, dann dieser Tilama. So oder so grandios... 94+/100

-- Parker: The 2018 Tilama is a pure Malvasía Volcánica from Tilama within the Tinajo village of Lanzarote, which is very close to the sea (two kilometers) which provides a saline character to the wine. The vines are extremely old (centenary) planted on clay-rich soils covered by volcanic ash and are organically farmed. The whole clusters were foot trodden and the juice fermented in stainless steel at low temperature with natural yeasts and kept in stainless steel for seven months before bottling. The soils provide a little more structure to the wine, and the Malvasía was picked early to avoid the excessive aromatic character of the variety if it ripens too much. This is the saltiest of all the whites I tasted from Puro Rofe, sapid and tasty. It has nice aromatics within an austere profile, and the palate has great balance, with a sharp profile and lowish alcohol (11.7%), and it opens up slowly in the glass. It will be interesting to see how these wines develop in bottle. Only 600 bottles were filled in March 2019. 92+/100
