-- Weingut: This Teroldego was born in 2017 with the spirit of experimentation and continues to develop in this way.The Lezèr always evolves; several attempts in amphora, wood, cement and steel, in separate batches and never with more than 24 hours on the skins.Overseeing the various developments that take place in each vintage, each year we experiment with the addition of full bunches and changing containers, along with tweaking our techniques and timings for short maceration.Needless to say, 2020 was a year of superior forces interfering with everybody’s life more than usual.We want to dedicate this vintage to divine providence.World pandemic aside, the Gods of the elements (in our greek, polytheistic mind) were misdirecting perceptions in this vintage: an early bud break was announcing premature maturations, but a sudden, cold and rainy end of the summer pushed in the opposite direction.The harvest began with an epic rainfall that almost broke our local riverbanks and catastrophy seemed inevi- table. Then again another contradictory turn: hot and dry conditions in September changed it all again.The final result of this rollercoaster is a soft, dense vintage and a relieved staff.Our Lezèr label 2020 symbolizes hereby an oriental, zen-like and almost fatalistic attitude in our mindsets, necessary to withstand the agitated waters in which humans have to navigate when exposed to greater forces.Salute, to a year of contradictions!Name of wine: Lezèr – Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGTGrape: Teroldego 90% + other red grape varieties 10%Vineyard location: Comune di Mezzolombardo and Mezzocorona, Campazzi, Settepergole and other sites Hectares: 5 hectares, across various plotsTerroir: Alluvial, gravel and sandFermentation and fining: 4 months in cement tanks, wooden barrels and terracotta amphorae.Annual production: 35.000 bottles
