Lobenberg: Eine Kollaboration zwischen Château Ste. Michelle aus dem Washington State, Michel Gassier von der Rhône und Philippe Cambie als beratender Önologe. Das kann einfach nur gut werden. Das hier ist der Topwein des Hauses. Mit Stengeln vergoren, kein neues Holz, ganz wie an der Rhône. GSM steht für die Anfangsbuchstaben der Rebsorten: ein Blend aus 43% Grenache, 35% Syrah und 22% Mourvèdre. Ein ganz dichtfarbiger Wein, der schon aus dem Glas duftet, bevor man die Nase hinführt. Blaubeeren, Brombeeren von der Mourvèdre-Traube, auch etwas laktische Noten in Form von Brombeerjoghurt. Dann kommt Espresso und Zartbitterschokolade. Am Gaumen hat man saftige Cassisfrucht, reife Pflaume und Tabak. Das alles hat richtig Power. Das ist quasi Südrhône, aber nochmals mit dem Dampfhammer. Der Wein performt direkt aus dem Glas, macht sehr viel Freude. Aber dieses volle Potenzial wird er wohl erst mit 3-4 Jahren Reife zeigen, wenn er den charmanten Babyspeck abgelegt hat. Ein großer Wein aus dem Columbia Valley. 96-97/100
