Heiner Lobenberg über:
Syrah Case Via 2013

94–95
/100

Parker über: Syrah Case Via

-- Parker: Like the Fontodi Pinot Nero, this wine shows enormous creativity and courage. The 2013 Syrah Case Via opens to a dark and impenetrable appearance with blackberry, bitter chocolate, cured meat, Indian spice and crushed black pepper. This wine is absolutely unique within its context. The tannins are plush and succulent. With so many excellent game dishes in Tuscany like wild boar and rabbit, I cannot imagine a better pairing partner. Only 6,000 bottles are made. 95/100

Galloni über: Syrah Case Via

-- Galloni: Fontodi's 2013 Syrah Case Via is deep, powerful and wonderfully giving. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, cloves and new leather flesh out. Deep, creamy and intense, with striking fruit intensity and breadth, the 2013 is a gorgeous wine to drink over the next handful of years. This is not the most varietally expressive Syrah readers will come across, even in Tuscany, but it is a very good wine if taken on its own terms. 92/100

Wine Spectator über: Syrah Case Via

-- Wine Spectator: A meaty style, displaying blackberry and plum flavors set against a base of stern tannins. Stays fresh and long, picking up tobacco and leafy elements. Drink now through 2022. –BS 91/100

Fontodi
