Heiner Lobenberg über:
Saint Joseph Les Cotes 2017

94–95+
/100

Decanter über: Saint Joseph Les Cotes

-- Decanter: Lieu-dit Les Côtes is on a steep, south-facing granite slope. The fruit for this wine is 20% whole-bunch fermented in stainless steel, then aged for 16 months in barriques, with no new oak. It's nicely done - subtle use of stems adds detail but the ripe loganberry and blackberry fruit stays front and centre. There are some spicy hints on the finish, but not overly influenced. Ripe, fresh, detailed and balanced, this should please any lover of St-Joseph. 93/100

Galloni über: Saint Joseph Les Cotes

-- Galloni: Brilliant violet color. Mineral-accented dark berry and cherry aromas are complemented by a smoky nuance that gains strength with air. Lively blackberry and bitter cherry flavors show very good depth. A peppery note adds spicy bite on the back half. Finishes bright and emphatically spicy, with gentle, even tannins lending shape to clinging blue fruit and floral notes. 91-93/100

Wine Spectator über: Saint Joseph Les Cotes

-- Wine Spectator: Fresh and direct, with a beam of cassis and damson plum fruit flavors, laced with chalky minerality and backed by light tobacco and charcoal hints through the finish. Drink now through 2022. 185 cases made, 10 cases imported. 91/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Saint Joseph Les Cotes

-- Jeb Dunnuck: I loved the 2017 Saint Joseph Les Côtes from Voge, which has a classic yet ripe, textured style that's a joy to drink. Lots of blackberries, plums, peppery, and floral notes all give way to a medium-bodied Saint Joseph that has good acidity, moderate tannins, and a layered, elegant style. Drink it over the coming 7-8 years. 90-92/100

Mein Winzer

Domaine Alain Voge
