Parker über: Primus Quinta da Pellada

-- Parker: The 2009 PRIMUS “QUINTA DA PELLADA” is 96% Encruzado with dollops of Cerceal and Terrantez, old vines from Quinta da Pellada. Gentle and graceful, with nice fruit but a very elegant mid-palate, this has lovely aromatics and shows its class as it warms up and airs out, its underlying acidity rising to the fore and providing a mouthwatering finish tinged with a little lemon. This is the picture of grace and elegance. I have to say, I was underwhelmed by this initially. The more it held in the glass, the more it persisted and the more I liked it. The more I wanted. Like most of Castro’s wines, it mingles subtlety with surprising persistence and breeding. 94/100
