Lobenberg: Der Sangiovese ist aromatisch und ultrafein geraten und zeigt dabei dennoch eine tolle Lebhaftigkeit. Jan Hendrik Erbach von Pian del Orino ist ohnehin ein Meister der feinen und geschliffenen Weine, da es hier immer eine vorsichtige Extraktion gibt. Die Lage Bassolino ist ein süd-südwestlich ausgerichteter Weinberg in 330 bis 370 Metern Höhe. Der Boden ist karg, Kalkverwitterung mit hohem Eisenanteil. Die Sangiovese zeigt hier ihren ganz klassischen Charakter, Kirsche, Rosenblätter, dunkle Beeren, extrem fein und duftig. Der Gaumen ist so fein, fast leichtfüßig, ultra-elegant, aber auch erdig-würzig und intensiv. Die Tannine sind seidig-weich und reif geraten in diesem üppigen Jahrgang. Bassolino zeigt sich gleichzeitig konzentriert und dicht, dabei auch saftig und energetisch mit hoher Intensität. Ein großer Sangiovese, der noch ein paar Jahre Zeit brauchen wird. 100/100

Pouring a jeweled ruby hue, this beauty is expressive and continuously unfolds in the glass and through the palate, revealing a vibrant core of fresh pine, smoky cedar, ripe black cherry, Mediterranean herbs, white pepper, wild raspberry, polished leather, and pressed lavender. It is medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins, coiled mineral energy, and a harmonious structure so seamless it is hard to place where one component ends and another begins, and lasts long after it is gone. This is a wine that sparks all the senses and gave me goosebumps. It is transparent yet elusive, as it is evolving from one moment to the next. It is impeccable now but will continue to improve over the coming decades. Drink 2024-2050. 100/100
