Lobenberg: Der Zweitwein des überragenden Figeac aus einem der besten Jahre, die Figeac je hatte. Aus den jüngeren Reben, ultrarar, knapper noch als der Erstwein. 70 Prozent der Fläche wird organisch bewirtschaftet und ist zertifiziert als umweltschonend. Diese Zertifizierung – ohne in die strenge Demeter-Knechtschaft zu gehen – nimmt in Frankreich stark zu. Es freut mich besonders, dass der Trend zu mehr Cabernet in Saint-Émilion und Pomerol, wie er von Figeac und auch Clinet und VCC gegangen wird, jetzt immer weiter rollt. Die klimatischen Veränderungen begünstigen beide Cabernets extrem. Das Kiesterroir sowieso. Wie der Erstwein ist auch der Petit Figeac total burgundisch, satte Kirschtöne, dazu Schlehe und Kalksteinmieralik. Perfekt stimmig und eine unglaubliche Delikatesse. 95+/100

-- Decanter: It was a rainy vintage until June, but then July, August and September were the sunniest for 15 years, with hot days and cool nights. That made it a perfect late season, where the risk was harvesting too late and losing fresh fruit aromatics. They have avoided that here and this wine is a clear step up from the 2014. It's full of well-defined layers with a rich texture and plenty of cocoa, liquorice and dark fruit character. It's approachable now if opened a good few hours before drinking, but will be even better next year. A third of production at the estate goes to Petit Figeac on average and the rest goes to the grand vin. This wine was made with 40% new oak. 92/100

-- Parker: The 2016 Petit-Figeac is a blend of 41% Cabernet Franc, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Merlot. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with bold scents of warm black plums, black cherries and mulberries with touches of baking spices, potpourri, unsmoked cigars and dusty soil. Medium-bodied, it is very bright, elegant and minerally in the mouth, with plenty of vibrancy and freshness on the finish.90/100
