Malaga Old Mountain Vin Exceptionnel
-- Parker: The next vintage of Rodríguez's long-aging sweet wine after the 1997 and 2005 is the 2009 Molino Real Old Mountain, the special bottling they do after a long élevage of more than seven years in barrique. There are complex aromas and it seems to have the distilled spirit of the Molino Real, with bay leaf and condensed milk complicated by tons of nuts, honey and varnish. It's truly explosive and concentrated, a little raw and tender and in need of some time in bottle. It has beautiful acidity that sustains the sugar and a dense, soft texture. It feels young and it should gain more complexity in bottle. Some 500 half-bottles were produced, for which they used around two hectares of vines! I'd love to see this in five more years. 97/100
