Lobenberg: Seit einigen Jahren hat die Biodynamie hier nochmal einen Qualitätsschub gegeben, Lageder stellt meist wieder die besten Weißweine der Region. Im Barrique vergoren und über 11 Monate auf der Hefe ausgebaut. Sehr dichte, cremige Nase, weißer Pfirsich und Birne, Vanille, weiße Mandel, sehr hell und fein. Am Gaumen ausgesprochen elegant, sehr harmonmisch, cremiges Mundgefühl, fast samtig aber auch mit guter Frische. Zitronengras, grüne Aprikose, Quitte, Orangenschale, Mandeln, alles sehr geschliffen, strahlend fein. Burgundisch frischer Biss, salzige Mineralität, Viel Kraft und dennoch perfekt abgestimmte Harmonie. Eine eigene Dimension in Südtirol und ganz klar einer der allerbesten Chardonnays Italiens. 95-96/100

-- Suckling: A stunningly elegant chardonnay with a really wide aroma spectrum, ranging from pineapple and candied-lemon to floral and fresh-nut notes. Still very young and only just beginning to open up, we recommend decanting and large glasses to get the best out of it now. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drinkable now, but better from 2023. 95/100

-- Vinum: Die Nase delikat, leicht 'butterig', Duft von Vanille, neues Holz. Im Mund voll, dicht, beinahe opulent, dabei elegant. Schmelz am Gaumen, sehr dicht, dabei leichtfüssig, sehr präzise, frische Säure, souverän. Langer Abgang, wieder Frische und feiner Bittermandelton. Grosses, klassisches Gaumenkino. 95/100

-- Parker: The organic and biodynamic Alois Lageder 2018 Chardonnay Löwengang offers a medley of ripe fruit and apricot with soft spice and toasted cinnamon. Aged mostly in barrique and some larger wooden barrel, the oak is well balanced overall, owing more to the textural richness of the mouthfeel, as well as to the warm and toasted notes that appear on the bouquet. There is plenty of soft fruit to flesh it out. This wine is prime for a generous 10-year drinking window. 94/100

-- Galloni: The 2018 Chardonnay Lowengang captivates with its understated yet deeply layered bouquet, as sweet smoke blows off to reveal ripe peaches complemented by a mix of curry leaves and fresh vanilla bean. This is silky and elegant in texture, yet not weighty in feel, as contrasting notes of lemon oil and granny smith apple give way to an enriching air of confectionary custards. It leaves a concentration of tart orchard fruits and salty minerals to linger, while finishing remarkably long, but also fresh. There is simply so much going on in this glass and only more to come through medium-term cellaring. The integration of oak is spot-on. This is Italian Chardonnay done right. 94/100
