Lobenberg: Wie der Brise Marine in weiß ist der rote La Cote ein Super-Charmeur zum reinspringen. Dunkle Waldbeeren, dazu Cassis und Pfeffer, dazu satte Mineralik, Schokolade, Rosmarin und fruchtige Frische. Alles ist sofort da. Knochentrocken und doch mit geschmeidig, seidigem Trinkfluss, das elegant Frühlingshafte des Languedoc wiederspiegelnd. 92/100

-- Parker: --Parker: The 2017 La Cote is a blend of Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, aged entirely in wooden vats. Like all the red offerings from Negly, it's full-bodied, but what distinguishes La Côte (at least in 2017) is the unique, floral-spicy nose and red-fruited flavors. Ripe, supple tannins buttress exotic notes of raspberries, stone fruit, orange zest, cardamom and cumin. Savory and fine, it looks to be a terrific effort for near-term consumption. 91-93/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: From an early, hot vintage, the 2017 Languedoc La Cote is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan brought up mostly in tank. It got a few “wows” in the notes and has a concentrated, ripe, sexy style as well as classic darker fruits and ample background meatiness. Offering remarkable ripeness, sweet tannins, and terrific mid-palate density, this going to be a little gem of a wine. 90-92/100

Das Château de la Négly liegt knapp 20 km von Narbonne entfernt im Herzen des Clape Gebirges. Das Gebiet war noch zu gallisch-römischer Zeit eine Insel, und erst durch Sedimentablagerungern entstand der Fluss Aude und es wurde ein Teil des Festlands.
