Lobenberg: Brand ist einer der wärmsten Grands Crus des Elsass, wie der Name vermuten lässt. Süd-Südostexposition auf Granitboden. Eine sehr intensive Mischung aus hoher Sonneneinstrahlung und kargem Boden, der den Weinen eine gewaltige Konzentration mitgibt. Dennoch gerät der Brand verblüffend elegant, ja geschliffen, auf weißem und gelbem Pfirsich dahingleitend, ruhig und sehr harmonisch. Die Säure ist fein integriert, angenehmer Schmelz an den Seiten, der das Ganze trägt. Ein Ausbund an Eleganz in seiner Rundheit, nichts eckt an, einfach nur schön und balanciert und perfekt zu trinken. So macht das Elsass richtig Freude. 96/100

-- Galloni: Trimbach bought these two parcels of over 70-year-old vines on granite and mic in 2018. The 2020 Riesling Brand Grand Cru's nose is immediately redolent of the herbal lift of warm sites. There is dried lemon peel, thyme, smoke and earth. Yet the palate reverts to the taut house style of precision. Here a most powerful beast was captured, with drive and power, all muscle. Its ripe freshness is countered by concentration and a pithy texture. This will become oily and rich with age, projecting the sunshine of this warm site. (Bone-dry)
