Heiner Lobenberg über:
Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis 2018

Jeb Dunnuck über: Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Lastly, the 2018 Côte Rôtie Château D'Ampuis is going to flirt with perfection and is about as classic Côte Rôtie as they come. Lots of cassis, graphite, spring flowers, vanilla, and game notes all give way to a full-bodied Côte Rôtie that’s flawlessly balanced, has silky tannins, no hard edges, and a great, great finish. This will be another stunning vintage for this wine that readers can find for a fraction of the cost of the top La Las. It’s worth the money. 97-100/100

Suckling über: Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis

-- Suckling: The very deep, smoky and spicy nose pulls you into this very concentrated, focused and elegant Cote-Rotie, with delicate notes of coconut and pomegranate adding to the very complex picture. Very long, polished finish with delicate sweetness and underplayed power. Drink or hold. 96/100

Galloni über: Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis

-- Galloni: Glass-staining violet color. Expansive black and blue fruit, licorice, incense and floral qualities on the powerfully scented nose. Smooth and expansive in style, offering palate-coating cherry-vanilla, cassis and blueberry flavors that take on smoky mineral, candied violet and exotic spice accents as the wine opens up. Finishes extremely long, sappy and appealingly sweet, with steadily building tannins and resonating blue fruit, spice and floral notes. Aged for 38 months in new oak barrels. 96/100

Parker über: Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis

-- Parker: Built along the lines of the 2015, the 2018 Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis is full-bodied, rich, ripe and concentrated. It seems awfully easy to drink right now, yet I'm confident the underlying structure will be revealed in time. Vanilla and mocha notes accent huge fruit—a mix of blueberries and raspberries—finishing plush and long. 95-97/100

Jancis Robinson über: Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis

-- Jancis Robinson: It's remarkable how much better this handles the new oak than their Brune et Blonde, which must be down to sheer fruit power. Rich fruit and juicy acidity giving a fresh finish. 18/20
