Lobenberg: CVR ist der Einstieg in die grandiose Welt der Weine von Quilceda Creek. Der Bordeaux Blend besteht aus Trauben aller vier Weinbergslagen des Weinguts, Champoux, Galitzine, Mach One und Palengat. Intensive dunkle Beerenfrucht schwappt in fast verschwenderischer Manier aus dem Glas. Blaubeere, Cassis, Brombeere und reife Pflaume. Dahinter kommen Vanille, Pfeffer und Backgewürze hervor. Das ist schon eine imposante Nase! Im Mund sind die Tannine gut strukturiert und opulent, fast saftig, dabei rund poliert. Elegante Noten von Zigarrenkiste und eine faszinierend rauchige Mineralität sowie roher Kakao mischen sich unter die dunkle Frucht. Das ist der wie gesagt der Einstiegswein bei Quilceda, eine absolute Rarität wohlgemerkt, denn das Weingut ist eines der höchstbewerteten in den USA, und ich finde den CVR schon atemberaubend gut. 94-95/100

Full-bodied, ripe, and sexy, with terrific notes of kirsch, black cherry liqueur, lead pencil shavings, and graphite, it has plenty of tannins as well as terrific balance and elegance. 93/100
