Lobenberg: Die beste und einzige Weltklasselage von Mores Saint Denis? Nur 6 Barriques. Dieser Weinberg liegt in Morey St. Denis, 50-60 Jahre alte Reben. Intensives Toasting in der Nase. Dunkle Früchte, dunkle Schokolade, feuchte Erde. Harmonisch, aber noch deutlich vom Holz dominiert. Der Mund klar besser als die Nase. Intensive, üppige Frucht. Schwarze Johannisbeeren, schwarze Kirschen, frische Zwetschgen, auch ein Hauch von Holunder, diverse provencalische Gewürze, Johannisbrotbaum und schwarze Oliven, kubanische Tabake. Sehr interessanter, spannender Mund. Ein atemberaubender Wein mit großer Länge. Es fehlt das letzte Stück Finesse eines in die gleiche Richtung gehenden Bonnes Mares, aber ganz sicher dennoch ein imposanter Weltklasse-Wein mit ungeheuer individuellem Ausdruck. Ein grandioser Essenbegleiter zu Wild und dunklem, geschmorten Getier. 97-98/100

There is good energy and plenty of power on the moderately complex, serious and very firm finish. There isn’t as much depth at present compared to the Mazis and Clos de Bèze but there is first-rate underlying material and thus more should develop in time. (91-94)/2023+

At once delicate and substantial in the mouth, with terrific lift and strong saline minerality to the flavors of black raspberry, mocha and brown spices. The whiplash of a finish is subtle, pure and very long, showing terrific energy and a tactile, chewy impression of extract. 92-95/100
