Heiner Lobenberg über:
Chianti Classico 2019

Suckling über: Chianti Classico

-- Suckling: An unctuous Chianti Classico with black-cherry and dark-chocolate aromas and flavors. It’s medium-to full-bodied with round tannins and a delicious finish. Plenty of juicy-fruit flavors at the end. Drink or hold. 93/100

Weingut über: Chianti Classico

-- Weingut: It comes from 120 different company parcels, which spread across a unique range of soil and climate types, at an altitude from 220 to 550 meters above sea level in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. It is the flagship and the 'Best Seller' of the company, a benchmark for the whole category. The vintage 2019: The 2019 harvest reminds the great vintages of the 1980s: a 'classic' vintage, characterized by an exceptional combined action between man and nature. In winter temperatures were below average, with scarce rains; the end of February was unusually warm, while the whole spring, up to late summer, was characterized by thunderstorm showers that made it possible to recover the water deficit caused by the winter trend, albeit slowing down the initial phenological phases. The summer continued hot but regular. September was characterized by good weather and large temperature variations. At the harvest the load of the vines was adequate and the good conditions of the canopy demonstrated the great balance achieved by the plants in this great vintage. Grapes were perfect thanks to both climatic conditions and the thininng of the leafs at the beginning of September, which allowed us to wait for the optimal ripeness.
