Lobenberg: Ein gutes, braves Jahr in Sauternes und Barsac. Aber irgendwie auch langweilig. Wie zartere Beerenauslesen aus einem unspannenden Jahr, so wie 2009. Alles gut, aber bis auf d’Yquem kaum Extraterrestrisches dabei. Man kann nichts Schlechtes über diesen Bordelaiser Süßweinjahrgang sagen, aber auch nichts wirklich Spannendes. Kann man kaufen, muss man aber nicht zwingend. 93-94+/100

-- Suckling: Best since 2005? It has a unique style of botrytis intensity yet fresh, agile and bright. It’s full-bodied, delicate and refined. The palate is full of figs, spices, dried mushrooms and earth. It lasts for minutes. It makes you want to drink it now! 97-98/100

-- Gerstl: Herrlicher intensiver Duft, feine klare Botrytis, duftet beinahe wie eine grosse Riesling BA, konzentrierte, vielfältige Tropenfrucht, Honig, Karamel, ein erfrischender Hauch Minze. Voller, reicher, enorm konzentrierter Gaumen, komplex und von genialer Rasse wunderschön in die Länge getragen. 19/20

-- Parker: The Château Suduiraut 2014 may well be one of the best Sauternes of the vintage. This year, it is a blend of 95% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon Blanc with a healthy 145 grams per liter residual sugar and 4.5 grams per liter total acidity. It needed some coaxing on the nose so I afforded the sample five minutes of rigorous swirling. It was worth the effort as it reveals intense clear honey and mineral scents that possess exquisite definition, one of those aromatics that stop you in your tracks. The palate is clean and fresh with vibrant acidity, great depth and power as it fans out in glorious fashion on the bravura finish. The phrase “It will knock your socks off” comes to mind, so wear a couple of pairs. 95-97/100

-- Gabriel: Eine kleine Ernte mit nur 7 hl/ha. Etwa 35'000 Flaschen. Recht dunkles Gelb mit erstem Goldschimmer, brillant. Konzentriertes, mit Aromen bepacktes Bouquet, viel Honig, gelbe Blüten, ganz feine Harznoten im Innern zeigend, er hat eine schöne Botrytisexpression Im Gaumen fleischig, sattes Extrakt, ein Hauch von Bittermandel ist im fülligen Finale zuspüren, tolles Potential für Jahrzehnte. Kann noch zulegen. Zwei Mal verkostet. Einmal an der grossen Degustation auf Lafaurie-Peyraguey und noch einmal vor einem Diner auf Pichon-Baron. 18/20

-- Galloni: The 2014 Suduiraut captures a super-appealing stylistic middle ground that brings together freshness and intensity. Candied lemon, orange, jasmine and sweet spices meld into more intense graphite and mineral-inflected notes, all with considerable freshness that keeps the flavors bright.
