Galloni über: Chateau Rauzan Gassies 2eme Cru

-- Galloni: The 2009 Rauzan-Gassies has a refined bouquet with blackberry, cedar and light graphite notes, maybe a little closed down though, it opens nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, and fine acidity. Chewy with plenty of blackberry and bilberry fruit laced with sea salt and brine towards the finish. Give it another coupe of years. Not amazing, but certainly one of the best recent vintages that I have encountered. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting. 91/100

Wine Enthusiast über: Chateau Rauzan Gassies 2eme Cru

-- Wine Enthusiast: Soft and ripe wine that shows the richness of the year while offering a core of tannins. It is immediately attractive, although the structure and final tannins do promise aging potential. 91/100

Suckling über: Chateau Rauzan Gassies 2eme Cru

-- Suckling: A little lean for the vintage with a mineral, blueberry and light chocolate character that follows though to a medium body with chewy tannins. Better in 2015. 90/100

Falstaff über: Chateau Rauzan Gassies 2eme Cru

-- Falstaff: Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezenter Ockerrand. Mit zarter Kräuterwürze unterlegte reife Pflaumenfrucht, kandierte Orangenzesten, tabakige Nuancen. Mittlerer Körper, rotbeeriges Konfit, reife Tannine, floral-mineralischer Abgang, salziger Nachhall, leicht adstringierend im Nachhall. Bereits gut antrinkbar. 90/100

Parker über: Chateau Rauzan Gassies 2eme Cru

-- Parker: A masculine-styled, dense purple-colored 2009, this cuvee offers up scents of charcoal, asphalt, black currants, incense, and crushed rocks. This deep, medium to full-bodied, well-made Margaux is broader, richer, and more substantial than usual, with more alcohol as well as substance. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated. This is a 30-year wine. 89-91/100
