Lobenberg: Keine Frostschäden. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc und 1% Petit Verdot. Sensationell frische Cabernet-Nase. Würzig, voller Intensität. Cassis, aber in ganz schlanker Form. Zwar Veilchen, aber auch die Veilchen kommen nicht irgendwie opulent rüber, sondern sehr fein, sehr frisch. Tolle Mineralität. Von Anfang an Salz in der Nase. Viel schwarze Kirsche. Alles schlank, alles voller Intensität. Im Mund haben wir dann aber 2017er Pauillac von der feinsten Sorte. Wir haben satte Lakritze, wir haben diese immense Süße aus der Lakritze, aus Cassis, aus Brombeere, Maulbeere, Veilchen. Ziemlich wuchtiger Körper für einen Picola. Sehr harmonisch, rund, lang und dicht. Das klingt wie ein fetter Wein, aber Picola ist nicht fett, Picola ist nur wirklich opulent. Und wenn alles gut läuft, wird sich dieser 2017er irgendwann wie ein 82er präsentieren. Er ist nicht extraterrestrisch schick und in der Finesse abgehoben wie 2016, sondern es ist mehr Richtung Blockbuster. In der Stilistik ähnelt er nicht dem Nachbarn Latour, sondern fast eher dem Cos d´Estournel, dann aber mit etwas mehr Intensität. Potentiell ein Nachfolger des 1982ers, vielleicht etwas fetter. Ein Wein mit großen Anlagen, der aber noch nicht in der Größe angekommen ist, die er vielleicht mal haben wird. 97-99/100

-- Weinwisser: 70 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 23 % Merlot, 6 % Cabernet Franc, 1 % Petit Verdot. Dichtes Granatrubin mit satter Mitte und violettem Rand. Verströmt ein erotisches Parfüm nach reifen Schattenmorellen, frischen Alpenheidelbeeren und verführerischer Nougatschokolade. Im zweiten Ansatz süsse Lakritze, würziges Cassis und warmes Pumpernickelbrot. Am royalen Gaumen mit seidiger Textur, fein mehligem Extrakt, eine geniale Symbiose von Dichte und Eleganz. Im gebündelten, nicht enden wollenden Finale ein Offenbarung aus Brombeerenund hellen Edelhölzern, die unglaubliche Präzision macht dieses Jahr den Unterschied und katapultiert ihn an die Spitze in Pauillac. Für mich, neben Cheval-Blanc, der Rotwein des Jahrgangs. 19.5/20

-- Parker: Composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and is a little closed to begin, soon revealing floral notes of lilacs and lavender over a core of black raspberries, warm blackberries and forest floor plus touches of star anise and stewed black tea. Medium-bodied, the palate is a bundle of energy and tension with softly played tannins and beautiful floral and black fruit layers, finishing with a long-lingering whisper. 96/100

Composed of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc this displays a simply stunning aromatics profile of red and dark currents, florals, tobacco, pencil lead, herbs and crushed stones all coming together beautifully in the glass. On the palate this possesses a wonderful medium-plus body with a firm structure and incredible overall balance. It shows incredible purity and poise as it heads into the long polished finish. This is nothing short of a remarkable success in this challenging vintage, and it should go on to evolve brilliantly for years to come. 96/100

-- Decanter: Tasting in a blind lineup across Pauillac, it is instantly clear that what you get in this glass is better clarity of fruit, a darker and more serious texture across the palate and some lovely saffron and cinnamon notes to fill out the body. This feels like a Pauillac and even though it doesn't have the concentration of bigger years, there is a lot to be delighted about here. Silky tannins, burnished confidence, well-handled oak. Wait just another five years then ready to go with a carafe. 95/100

-- Gerstl: Auf diesen Wein war ich ganz besonders gespannt, kann er sein sagenhaftes Niveau auch in diesem Jahr halten? Der Duft ist schon einmal sehr vielversprechend, sehr typisch Pichon, das ist dieser geniale Duft mit einem Hauch knisternde Erotik. Wouw, das ist er schon wieder, zum ausflippen schön, superdelikat aber irre aromatisch, der zieht es durch, das ist so etwas von faszinierend, was da abgeht, der erinnert mich schon im Antrunk an den sensationellen 82er, der hat damals bei der Fassprobe genau so geschmeckt, man spürt ihn kaum auf der Zunge, so fein ist er, aber was der an Aromen loslässt, ist mit Worten nicht zu beschreiben, mehr Trinkvergnügen kann man sich im Traum nicht vorstellen, ich bin hin und weg. Man wird ihn wie damals den 82er ganz jung schon herrlich geniessen können. Ich probiere ihn auch ber der Union des Grands Crus nochmals, einfach weil es so ein himmlisches Vergnügen ist diesen Wein zu kosten, das ist, wie seit 2013 in jedem Jahr, einer der absolut besten Weine von ganz Bordeaux. 20/20

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Pure elegance and class, the 2017 Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse De Lalande checks in as 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot (representing just 50% of the production) that spent 18 months in 60% new barrels. Nicolas Glumineau has done an incredible job at this estate and this wine is consistently one of the classiest, most elegant wines in just about every vintage. Pure Pauillac notes of creme de cassis, lead pencil, green tobacco, and gravelly earth give way to a medium to full-bodied, soft, supple, flawlessly balanced 2017 that shows the more straight, classic style of the vintage. It needs 4-6 years of bottle age and will evolve gracefully for 25+ years or more. Tasted twice. 95/100

1850 wurden das Weingut Pichon Longeville wegen eines Erbschaftsfalls geteilt. Eine Hälfte erbte Virginie de Lalande, die noch vor Antritt ihres Erbes den Grafen Henri de Lalande geheiratet hatte. So kam der etwas umständlich lange Name Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande zustande.
