Lobenberg: Château Le Pape gehört zu Château Haut Bailly, ein zweites, kleines Gut, dass sie vor ein paar Jahren dazugekauft haben. Die Cepage ist 80% Merlot und 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Reiche, hocharomatische Nase mit wunderbar reifer, roter Kirsche, Pflaume, eine tolle Reife anzeigend, samtig, seidig, aber auch ein bisschen Frische, Hagebutte, Schlehe, eine sehr individuelle Mineralität, fast an Feuerstein erinnernd, Silex-artig. Dazu kommt etwas Jasmin und sehr viel frische Minze. Und was für ein Mund dann folgt! Fast explosiv in der Aromatik, unglaublich schöne, salzige Mineralität, auch hier wieder die Erinnerung an Silex, an Quarzsand. Wunderschöne Länge, Zwetschge, rote und schwarze Kirsche, ganz feine, helle Lakritze. Der Wein wird nie schwarz, er bleibt immer mehr auf der roten Seite, trotz oder vielleicht gerade wegen dem hohen Merlotanteil. Eine echt tänzelnde Schönheit, wunderbar verwoben, große Harmonie, ausdrucksstark und aromatisch. Wirklich eine tänzelnde Schönheit. 96/100
