Lobenberg: Dichtpflanzung, Ertragsreduktion, biologische Weinbergsarbeit. Das alles auf bestem Kalksteinfelsen in der Nähe von Tertre Rôteboeuf, auf bestem Terroir also. An der Kante zu Castillon gelegen. Schimmert purpurrot mit Lila Reflexen. Ätherisches Bouquet, Kursche, schwarze Johannisbeere, Rauch, Vanille. Im Mund war das jung schon ziemlich stoffig und adstringierend, aber mittlerweile sind die Tannine hier schön abgeschmolzen. Dicht und gleichzeitig charmant, mit reifem Kirsch-Finish. Ein jetzt nach 20 Jahren eindrucksvoll zu trinkender Faugeres! 92/100

Faugeres has turned out an opaque black/purple-colored 2000 displaying aromas of ink, blackberry liqueur, licorice, and toasty oak. Seamless, rich, and full-bodied, with even more weight and length than it revealed prior to bottling, it is a reasonably-priced, serious wine that merits attention from consumers. Delicious stuff! Anticipated maturity: 2004-2018. 91/100
