Heiner Lobenberg über:
Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe 2021

/100

Revue du Vin de France über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Revue du Vin de France: The aromas are most delicate and elegant, with citrus fruit dominant along with hints of pastry, as if to remind one that this is made in barrels that add complexity over time. Confortably sweet, always in balance with the acidity, this is soft and unctuous, producing a spherical impression around its very pure fruit flavours. Superb! 97/100

-- Suckling: Fantastic energy and length to this young Sauternes, with dried-apple, apple-pie, spice and cinnamon character . Medium body, medium sweetness and a vibrant finish. 95-96/100

Jane Anson über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Jane Anson: You're in good hands here, and straight from the fragrant white flower aromatics you get waves of pear, white peach, sweet spices. Subtle but builds in character, has a complexity and a rich concentration through the mid palate. 50% new oak for 6 months, 20% stainless steel vats. Located on largely gravel soils in Saint Saveur, a commune close to Pauillac in the Médoc appellation. 95/100

Galloni über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Galloni: The 2021 Coutet has another refined and (for Coutet) low-key bouquet that gradually finds its voice: quince, white peach, pineapple and beeswax scents. A faint hint of saffron that surfaces with aeration. The palate is well-balanced and quite viscous, bearing superb weight and a clean and pure, beautifully defined, botrytis-rich finish. Touches of vanilla emerge on the aftertaste. Excellent. 94/!00

Jeff Leve über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Jeff Leve: Honeysuckle, pineapple, cashew nuts, lemon meringue pie, orange blossoms and honey on the nose move you to know more about this vibrant, racy, sweet treat. Drink from 2023-2050. 94-96/100

Bravo! (Übersetzt mit DeepL) 93-95/100

Neal Martin über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Neal Martin: The 2021 Coutet needs time to cohere in the glass, eventually offering scents of dried honey, pressed flowers and quince. It just needs a little more pizzazz. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity and good weight and tension, showing the energy that is slightly lacking on the nose at the moment. Maybe it could benefit from more unctuousness on the finish, but this remains an enjoyable Barsac that will gain complexity with bottle age. 93-95/100
