Lobenberg: Sehr dichte, schwarzfruchtige Nase, ein Hauch Grün. Dieses leicht grüne zieht sich durch den Wein bis in das leicht holzbetonte Finale. Oder ist es nur extreme Würze? Von der Cabernet Franc? Der Wein hat Dichte, der Wein hat Bumms, aber ich finde ihn nicht besonders gelungen. Oder interpretiere ihn falsch, er ist sonst immer einer meiner Favoriten...? Es fehlt die süße Fruchtfülle in der Mitte, dem Jahr und der Merlot geschuldet. Respekt, aber nicht ganz spannend und mit Fragezeichen. 90-94/100

-- Galloni: -- Gallloni: A stunning, breathtaking wine, the 2014 Clos Fourtet is without question one of the stars of the vintage. Deep yet also wonderfully nuanced, it exudes energy and transparency. Enticing scents of violet, lavender, mint and chalk add to the wine's chiseled personality. The 2014 has gained considerable depth, volume and intensity since I tasted it from barrel as a young wine, but without losing its intensely mineral, understated personality. Today, it is exceptionally beautiful in every way. The blend is 89 % Merlot, 7 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 4 % Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times. 97/100

-- Parker: The 2014 Clos Fourtet has developed a very perfumed bouquet with pure black cherry, raspberry and mineral aromas that seem very precise and relatively sophisticated compared to its Saint Emilion peers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red cherry and cranberry fruit, the tannins both fine but firm. This is a supremely well-focused Clos Fourtet, perhaps one that shows more restraint than previous vintages, yet there is genuine focus and intensity towards the almost piercing finish with vivid black, mineral-soaked fruit. This is a superb Clos Fourtet that transcends the promise from barrel. 94/100
