Lobenberg: Dunkles Rubinrot mit schwarzen Reflexen. Hoch aromatische, intensiv ätherisch strömende Nase nach süßen roten und feinen schwarzen Kirschen mit etwas Marzipan (wie Barolo Monfortino!) ist wie schon im Vorjahr das Markenzeichen des Chateau. Reinste Finesse. Etwas Milchschokolade, Milchkaffee, Moschus, Amarenakirsche, wollüstig im so ungemein verführerischen Duft. Die Intensität und Verträumtheit der Nase ist Burgund, der Inhalt ist noch mehr Barolo Monfortino oder Chateau Rayas aus Chateauneuf du Pape, wir sind hier ganz ohne Zweifel in der kleinen Oberliga der Traumweine angekommen. Nichts für Krafttrinker! Der Mund ist sehr rassig, total von schwarzer Kirsche dominiert, feine Säure und sattes, seidig samtiges Tannin, dessen ungeheure Dimension erst im ultralangen Nachhall ermessbar wird. Der Wein verfügt über viel süße Wucht. Im zweiten Schluck kommt dann auch Cassis und rote Johannisbeere, ein ultrapolierter, geschliffener Genusswein, nie fett, mit seiner raffinierten frischen Finessestilistik fast verblüffend für das potenziell fette Jahr. 100/100

-- Parker: This big wine (nearly 15% natural alcohol) is a blend of 77% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. It boasts an opaque blue/purple color along with a gorgeous bouquet of charcoal, incense, truffles, blackberry jam, black currants, raspberries and flowers. While enormous in the mouth, the limestone soils in which the grapes are grown give the wine good freshness as well as laser-like clarity and precision. Amazing to taste, this massive, super-concentrated powerhouse comes across as ethereal and almost feminine despite its extravagant fruit, density and richness. It is a modern day legend for sure! 100/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: A blend of 77% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2009 Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse) is utter perfection, and man, what a wine. Deep, inky, incredibly concentrated, yet also silky and weightless, it delivers that rare mix of intensity and weightlessness on the palate. Offering layers of blackcurrants, crushed flowers, lead pencil, incense and loads of spice-box, it shows the intensity and rich of the 2009 vintage yet is perfectly balanced, has building tannins, and a huge finish. It’s as good as it gets. Give bottles another 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 2-3 decades. 100/100

-- Wine Cellar Insider: The intensity on the nose is instantly noticeable. The strong aromas of juicy plums, crushed stone, flowers, oceanic nuances and herbs pop right in front of you. The fireworks however is on the palate. The wine is incredibly concentrated, full-bodied, rich, flamboyant and sexy. The fruit is energetic, pure, velvety, long and intense. The wine fills your palate with sweet fruits and doesn't want to leave, which is a good thing as you don't want it to stop! 2009 marks the initial vintage for the team of Nicolas Thienpont, where they were in charge of everything from start to finish. 100/100
