Lobenberg: Die 40 Jahre alten Reben stehen auf 0,2 Hektar direkt neben dem Musigny Grand Cru, der Nachbar ist Roumier, keine schlechte Ausgangslage. Dichte rauchige Kirsch- und Johannisbeernase, satte Schwarzkirsche dominiert sicher. Dann auch rote Grapefruit und Mango, ungeheure Spannung aufbauend. Fast singende Mineralität, die sich dann auch in den unerhört komplexen Mund zieht. Schokoladensouffle mit gelber, roter und schwarzer Frucht, Lakritze, Kalkstein und Salz. Mehr als 2 Minuten nachhallend, endend in totaler Finesse und Komplexität. 96-97+/100

-- Parker: The standout 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses comes from vines located adjacent to those of Christophe Roumier, averaging around 40-years old. It has the finest bouquet of Rion’s premier crus: sensual, sumptuous dark cherry and cassis fruit interlaced with minerals. There is patently wonderful definition here. The palate has a sorbet-like freshness on the entry, plus a citric thread embroidered from start to finish. There is “Hitchcockian” tension here; a Chambolle-Musigny that already exhibits impressive focus on the linear saline finish. Excellent – just three and a half pieces this year. 92-94/100

2012 Chambolle-Musigny “Les Amoureuses”: -- Burghound: A layered combination of both wood and natural spice also features notes of red and dark pinot fruit, anise and cinnamon. There is a highly refined mouth feel to the mineral-inflected, intense and well-delineated medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by ripe tannins on the velvety, mouth coating and balanced finish. While a bit too woody for me at present the underlying material appears to be up to the task of successfully integrating it in time. 91-93/100
