Lobenberg: Lobenberg: Die Powerlage Serralungas! An der anderen Seite des Dorfes und höher gelegen als Cascina Francia. Schwarze Frucht, Kirsche, Brombeere, Blaubeere, eine samtig fette Fruchtexplosion. Erde, Oliven, Lorbeer, schwarzer Tabak, Lakritze und Veilchen. Dazu Trüffel. So tief, so würzig, so ganz anders als die Finesseweine Robertos von der anderen Dorfseite. Dennoch, sonst könnte der Wein nicht von ihm sein, mit viel Finesse gesegnet. Weit entfernt von der etwas bäuerlichen Art des in der Nähe liegenden Sperss von Gaja. So wuchtig und doch so fein. 96+/100

Galloni über: Barolo Cerretta

-- Galloni: The 2011 Barolo Cerretta is fabulous. Next to the more floral/savory Francia, the Barolo Cerretta presents greater density and overall volume today, both qualities are very nicely aligned with the style of the year. The flavors are bold and intense, with plenty of dark red cherry, plum, spice, cedar and new leather. Roberto Conterno told me he would need 2-3 years to get Cerretta in shape when we first walked the vineyard together during the days his acquistion was being finalized. Judjing by the most recent vintages here, it looks like he is right on schedule. This is a fabulous vintage for the Cerretta, especially considering the Francia includes fruit that could have gone into a Monfortino bottling! -- Antonio Galloni 94-96/100

-- Winespectator: A taut, linear style, with a solid structure keeping the cherry, licorice, tobacco and stone flavors in a firm grip. Though austere now, this has intensity and personality, ending with a long aftertaste of fruit and mineral. 94/100
